Acadia National Park in the fog: Day One

September 2, 2014. Temp 67, visibility  1/8 mile. All that and Acadia still dished out an amazing day.

Started our day off exploring the low tide 15 feet from camp. 

Tenatively watching the ocean roll in and out at Sandy beach in Acadia, a rare sand beach amongst the typical rocky front.

Soon we begin to play. Water was very cold!!

Tanner, in particular, can be found gazing out to the sea wherever we are. He's our man of the sea. This is at Thunder Hole where we watched high tide roll in.

A hike to Beehive sounded adventurous. Ropes, ladders, rocks....we had to try it. 



Tanners expression tells how steep it became. I've never EVER known my husband to turn back from a trail, but watching Elise scale these cliffs was even too much for him.
