I have to be honest about some of our days out here traveling. They are not always fun, easy and adventurous. Some days, we all wish we were home in Boise, enjoying routine, family and friends. It seems to hit us all at different times, so that helps, as we can bring the one discouraged back up. In this beautiful South Carolina beach town, we felt a longing for home. Interesting that even in a new, ocean accessible, even friendly place, we felt incredibly homesick. I have realized that our family and friends play very important, even essential, roles in our lives. I had known we'd miss everyone back home, but thought that time and circumstance would suffice. Turns out that our relationships are far more valuable than we even gave them credit to be. From this knowledge, I have determined to be a better daughter, sister, friend to those who make such impact in my daily life. My goal is always to be content with wherever I am, realizing what gifts God places right in front of me.....truly a struggle for me, but what a wonderful way to live. So, we will push on because, truth be told, we are VERY far from home and if we only think about being home, we miss the moments that sit in front of us. I record this to help me fully remember our ups and downs in this journey.
This does help introduce our next segment on the most fantastic camp we have seen thus far. Not only a boost to our emotional and physical well being, but perhaps our most significant need; spiritual replenishment.
